Becta
Becta manages a major contract on behalf of the DfES for Futurelab to develop the Harnessing Technology e-strategy; Futurelab is a member of the National Strategy and Delivery Groups for e-strategy and also of the Content Advisory Board.

DCSF (Department for Children, Schools and Families)
The DCSF Technology Futures Unit sponsors a large contract managed by Becta on the development of Harnessing Technology (e-strategy). Futurelab also runs with the department the Beyond Current Horizons programme, which looks at what education might be like beyond 2025. Futurelab inputs to the department to present scenarios of future learning that challenge policy and demonstrate new ways forward.

Demos
Futurelab and Demos held a joint seminar series leading to the publication of a ‘Learner’s Charter for a personalised learning environment’. We have an ongoing joint interest in areas of educational policy.

DTI (Department for Trade and Industry)
DTI sponsored a number of industry secondments during the early stages of Futurelab’s development. We have a joint interest in the use of games for education and in Foresight programmes on education.

Football Foundation
The Football Foundation, the largest sports charity in the UK, uses football to support a range of innovative education, health and social inclusion projects as part of its Community programme. Futurelab and the Football Foundation are currently exploring ways of developing the Fizzees project.

IDA Singapore (Infocomm Development Authority)
Futurelab and the IDA are working on a two-year partnership project to develop digital learning resources and implement Futurelab's existing prototype technologies and research programmes in Singapore.

Innovation Unit
Futurelab is building a partnership with the Innovation Unit to exploit opportunities for advancing education through innovation.

NCSL (National College for School Leadership)
Futurelab and the NCSL have a shared interest in developing leadership in innovation in schools. We are exploring with them mobile learning and teacher innovation.

NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts)
NESTA is the former parent organisation of Futurelab. We have continued crossover interest areas in innovation and education.

Ofsted
Futurelab and Ofsted have a shared interest in exploring curriculum innovation and the role of teachers as innovators.

Partnerships for Schools
Futurelab’s relationship with Partnerships for Schools is focused on the education and planning division, providing tools and resources to aid schools and LAs in creating an educational vision in the early stages of their new building planning.

QCA (Qualifications and Curriculum Authority)
Futurelab has close links with the QCA Futures unit, reflecting the central role of curriculum and assessment in enabling change. We have delivered commissions to QCA to develop new curriculum models and to explore skills-based qualifications.

TDA (Training and Development Agency for Schools)
Futurelab and the TDA work together through Microsoft’s Partners in Learning programme. We are developing workforce development models to advance innovation in education.
