Learning Spaces and Personalisation workshop
24 January 2008
Futurelab, Bristol
On 24 January Futurelab held a small half-day workshop to begin to tentatively explore some of the issues and approaches linking personalisation and learning space design and development.
The event was devised as a pilot precursor to inform to more extensive, forthcoming work that Futurelab will be undertaking in this area in the near future.
A small group of individuals from the fields of architecture, policy, teaching, construction/design, technology and school environments attended the day. The idea was to have a lively, fun and exploratory brainstorming session that would generate some ideas and explore different perspectives rather than specific solutions or approaches.
The key aims of the day were:
- To consider some of the key principles of personalisation.
- To think how current and emerging technologies might be used to support a more personalised approach in the near future.
- To consider and ‘sketch’ out some alternative learning spaces that might be developed as a result.
