Digital Inclusion
Building fairer futures, challenging educational divides
Vision
Futurelab’s Digital Inclusion programme will address two critical questions:
- In what ways can the design and use of digital technologies promote educational equality?
- How can we address the new educational divides emerging in digitally rich societies?
Futurelab aims to build constructive partnerships with other organisations and individuals tackling these issues, working together towards educational equality.
We will gather evidence and conduct original research to understand and address these questions, building on existing good practice, and generating models for new ways to work towards greater inclusion and equality.
Outputs from this programme will provide tools, resources and guidance to policy makers, learning institutions, networks and practitioners, and the educational, technology, media and creative industries.
Send us your inclusive education examples
We're gathering examples from schools on how they are using technology to help deliver an inclusive education for all the young people on their roll. The use of technology may have been used to support school improvement, student voice initiatives, the Every Child Matters agenda, extended schools and even the Aim Higher agenda (raising aspirations).
If you have any examples that you would like to share and are happy for them to be showcased in a future Futurelab/Becta publication, please contact Dr Leila Walker at leila [dot] walker [at] futurelab [dot] org [dot] uk by 7 November. We look forward to hearing from you.
